To achieve this aim each class last fall made up gift boxes of toys, school supplies, and small articles of clothing to be sent through the Red Cross to foreign schools. Also, the classes filled stockings with Christmas surprises for children in orphanages. The dolls for this project dressed by the girls and exhibited in the Alumnae Room were so attractive that a photograph of them appeared in the Long lsland Press. lt is through the kind guidance of our moderator Sister Margaret Dolores, that the members of the Junior Red Cross have these many accomplish- ments to their credit. 158

, ef? ga' CMJ As we bring down the final curtain on the i953-54 season, we look back with happy memories and realize exactly what the A.A. means to us. It is the combination of team and supporters working together to make a better A.A. The memory of long hours of practice seem to dis- appear as we see the fruits of our labor before us in the fe .90 y Law?- ff! MISS CAROL MCLOUGHLIN The backbone of the team, our coach. knowledge that win or lose, the team has the spirit to hold its head up high and say, We did our best. The A.A. is not organized for the basketball team and the cheerleaders alone but for each and every girl in the school. These girls participate by playing intra- mural basketball, helping at Sports Night or by just sup- porting the team by coming to all the games. School Spirit is the keynote of the Athletic Association. Not only a spirit for Athletics but for each and every activity in the school. We wish to kindle the spark of school spirit so that it will burst into flame and spread through- out the school. 160 We ve got a team that's on the beam!! Our grad- uating Varsity: Kneeling: J.
