e Qjfffly in Wfzzlsfe 0 T C. RUSSELL President As the strains of the Ave Maria reach our ears, we know another meeting of the Mary Louis Glee Club has termi- nated. ' The club, under the able direction of Doctor Frank Rybka is dedicated to tos- tering a greater love for music through careful study and concentrated practice. However, these labors reap their reward with the presentation ofthe annual spring concert and the Christmas Assembly in school. Singing in the Immaculate Con- ception Monastery for Midnight Mass is J. WETZEL. Secretary Vice President deemed an honor by the club. The Glee Club is also invited to sing at graduation, at the Saint Cecilia Day program and at the teas given by the Mothers' Auxiliary. To honor the Marian Year in this club devoted to Mary, we learned a new Ave Maria and we dedicated our Spring Con- cert to her honor and praise. Although T. M. L. A.'s songbirds possess versatility and love of music, their success would not be possible with- out the untiring efforts of Sister Mar- garet Clare, the club's moderator. Meinzer, Vice President, work diligently. 1 my Qjgdflji' Qffmfe Ufzhhy Ugezz is Four years ago the Hobby Club was inaugurated at The Mary Louis Academy. Since then, we have gained many new members, who are all interested in the same thing-learning how to do something useful with their hands. To teach girls how to profitably spend every moment of their spare time is the aim of our club. By knitting, crocheting, doing leather work, em- broidering tablecloths, and putting edges on hand- kerchiefs, the members fulfill this purpose. Every Tuesday afternoon under the careful giudance of Sister Regina Catherine, our Moder- ator, beginners are given lessons in making such useful articles as argyles, gloves, stoles, sweaters, pocketbooks, and the special project for this term -straw hats. The girls who are more experienced spend an enjoyable hour perfecting their creative ability. At the spring exhibit, the talents of our members were proudly displayed before the entire faculty and the student body. Since there are so many girls in the Hobby Club, the picture below represents only those who have been members for at least two years. Front Row: M. Lauro, C. Stauich, B. Meinzer. Second Row: C.
