Hubmann. lt is the goal of each member of Das Deutsches Kr5nzchen to acquire a thorough knowl- edge and love of the culture and language of Germany. Under the capable direction of our teacher and moderator, Madame Habberton, we carry on various activities, one of these being a monthly meeting to which a class period is devoted. A program including German music, art, history and literature is presented. But most important of all our undertakings is the publication of our monthly newspaper, Der Monat . This paper is written entirely in German and is made up of articles Contributed by the Club members. Still another of our activities is frequent attendance at operas performed by the City Cen- ter Opera Company. Thus, you see that membership in T.M.L.A.'s German Club is altogether enjoyable and edu- cational, and at the same time contributes much to the development of personality. Smiling faces reveal the pleas- ure and satisfaction enjoyed by members of the German Club. Front Row: G, Jonynas, E. Eltz, Second Row: N. Muller, J. Hag- gerty, M. Homberg, D. Storin, E. Groh, M. The main object ot the Spanish Club is to acquaint ourselves with the language, customs and background of our Spanish and Latin American friends and neighbors, To this end we hold monthly meetings at which we discuss the music, art and literature of Spain and Spanish speaking countries. Sharing in the interesting experiences ot our moderator, and supplement- ing her accounts by listening to records we succeed in making the Spanish Club meeting a very important as well as entertaining part of our language course. Each girl in the class has her turn to make a cultural contribution such as a recitation, a book report or a display ot pictures at least once during the term. Our elected president and vice president organize and outline the meetings, a task they do very well. To make a practical contribution to the club, once during the term the girls bring in tood and clothing. These we send to a family in Spain. This, too, brings us closer to our neighbors. Smiles that register good will are radiated. Kneeling: B. Mein- zer, C. Grosso, J. Varvaro, P. J. Moravus, F. Gancio, M. Feur- J. Griffith, P. Devlin, M. O'Donnell. DeFrancis, F. Luciano.
