Une of the gayest of all festivities in Europe will take place this year in Franee. as a trihute to this City of Beauty, City of Light, City ol' Everlasting Youth. To take part in the Celebration of this great oeeasion one neetls only to untlerstantl the Freneh people and their customs. and thus he with them in the spirit of rejoicing. However. our study of Freneh aquaints us not only with the important large eities of Franee. hut takes us out into the provinces where we visit the fishing ports of Brittany, the vineyartls of Burgantly antl Chain- pagne. also Orleans where Jeanne tl'Are save1lFrane0 from English cloniination. and the city of Rouen in whose lllHl'li0tplllCC she was hurnetl alive. Finally, in the homes of the people themselves, we learn of the CIISIOIIIS and the way of life of the peasants of France.
