On the night ol' the l'0lll'0l'l. tt : Every Thursday afternoon the school audi- torium is overflowing with delightful song and music. Our Glee Club is in rehearsal. From the opening of school until its close, we are hard at work, for our year is filled with much activity but also lots of fun. During the Fall Ter111 most of our time is de- voted to the practice of Christmas carols in preparation for the Christmas assembly and for the beautiful Midnight Mass at the Monastery, which each year we are privileged to sing. by - Z L, Q 4 L ' ' ' .si The Spring Term is highlighted by our visit to Town Hall for participation in the Annual Catholic Music Festival Contest and by our Con- cert in our own auditorium where our efforts are crowned with success. Kentucky Mountain Songs such as 'L-The Riddle and 'LGrandma Gruntsn are telling features, but our grandest number is The Blue Danube . The finale of our activities comes at gradua- tion when we sing to the girls the closing of another year. -Q 2 I - These are the altos who contributed their harmony at the last Glee Club Concert. Here, at a Magnet meeting, you will find the girls who do the fine work which appears, so myster- iously, in the halls. QWe hope that you do not think little gnomes do all the work that you see.J Although the work is not so dif- ficult as you may think, it does take time, as any other extra curricular activity does. A project like our frieze for the Art room at Christmas, for instance, takes practically two weeks of after school labor-maybe a hundred hours all told. We are happy to expend that amount of time because we know that you appreciate our work. Our main work lies in making posters to advertise special school events. For in- stance, this year, through our work, we were successful in persuading the girls to attend Father I-Iubbard's Lecture, Father Ewing's Lecture on Archaeologyg the bas- ketball games, dances, Orchestra and Glee Club concerts and the Genesian play. Let- tering is also our specialty as the scrolls done by Mary Collins and Eileen Dwyer definitely show. Even better results can be obtained by a little encouragement from you, our classmates.
