Qyzzfffms' gfznf HE l946-I947 season marks the third successful year of Fathers Club. A further increase in membership has been achieved, and the program of previous years has been followed with added features. A striking evidence of the Club's vitality and friendly spirit is the continuing support of many of our original members. A lecture by Right Reverend Monsignor Fulton J. Sheen entitled The Signs of Our Times was given on February ninth under the Club's sponsor- ship. An enthusiastic audience filled the auditorium to capacity for the third successive appearance of this great Catholic leader. Our second Father and Daughter Communion Breakfast was held on April twenty-seventh, with an attendance of almost three hundred. Our group re- ceived the Blessed Sacrament at Mass celebrated by our Moderator, Father Owen, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, and then assembled in the school cafeteria for breakfast. Father Owen and the Hon. Herbert A. O'Brien, former Justice of the Domestic Relations Court and noted Catholic layman, were the featured speakers. The Sister Lumena Memorial Award for Religion is the established schol- astic prize sponsored by Fathers Club. At each graduation an engraved gold wrist watch is presented for this purpose. The season was further enlivened by several social evenings held jointly with The Auxiliary. We gratefully acknowledge the help and encouragement of the Sisters of the Faculty, of our Moderator, Father Owen Doyle, of the Mothers of The Auxiliary and of the Student Body. ST.
