NLIKE former years, the Latin Club this year consisted solely of Senior members. Under the guidance of Sister M, l-lonorine, this classical club has become one of the top-notch organizations of The Mary Louis Academy. One of the main events of the semester's program was the impressive ceremony of initiation of members of this club as shown in the above picture. During our meetings, which took place every two weeks, we played games and sang songs in the classical language of the Romans. Through the untiring work of the Club members, in their enacting of various skits, we were led back through the centuries into the streets of the Rome of the mighty Caesars and beheld a panorama of the lives of the early Romans unfolded before our eyes. Through our study of Vergil, in conjunction with the Latin Club, his immortal Aeneas became as unforgettable as any of our modern day heroes. Our club is affiliated with the Junior Classical League and through mem- bership, we are given the right and privilege to hand on the torch of classical civilization in the modern world. -MARY KANE '47 X fl!
