DOWLING K, ROWAN Corresponding Secretary Recording Secretary On the occasion of his fiftieth anniversary as a Sodalist, our present Pontif? Pius XII, declared, Conservation to the Mother of Cod in the Sodality is an entire gift of oneself, throughout life and for all eternityg it is not ri gift of mere sentimentg it is not a mere formal- ityg but it is operative, consummated in the intensity of the life of Christ and of Mary in the apostolic life in which it makes the Sodalist the minister of Mary and, so to express it, her visible hands upon the earth in the spontaneous overflowing of a superabundant interior life, wlgchfpours itself out in all of the exterior works of solid devotion, of worship, of charity, an o zeal. ACH year our Marian Sodalists renew to the beautiful Virgin of Galilee the consecration of their souls with all their powers, their bodies with all their senses, and their hearts with all their affections. This year, Mary was the patroness of the most extensive spiritual and social program our Sodality has ever witnessed. The impressive Installation and Reception ceremonies, the Thanksgiving Sport Hop, the closed retreats at Ronkonkoma, Scranton, Mendham, and the Cenacle, N. Y., the beautiful Christmas Crib and the festive tree project, were the sparkling highlights of the first semester. The second half of the school year beheld the third annual Symposuim, the Vocation Week Project, Holy Week Retreat, May Crowning Activity, Pas- sion Play performance, the Sign Luncheon Dance and the scholarship awards to the Summer School of Catholic Action. Let us pray with Pius Xll that the lively faith of our Sodality may impreg- nate our Own lives, so that we may truly become Mary's visible hands on earth bringing the gifts of our souls to Jesus through His Most Blessed Mother.
