027510027 HE garden in which we have planted the flow- ers on our Division Pages is truly symbolic. We have thought of it as Our Lady's Garden. lf Mary had a garden in Nazareth, it was doubtless Saint Joseph who did the weeding and spading necessary for the growth of the beauty that was there. For the past four years we have found The Mary Louis a garden spot and our path strewn with flowers of virtue: the orchid of delicacy, the vio- let of humility, the tulip of generosity, as well as the daisy of activity and the forget-me-nots of gratitude. lt has been through the guidance of a Community dedicated to the service of God and neighbor, under the pat- ronage of Saint Joseph, that our minds and hearts have been cultivated. lt is because the Sisters have weeded and spaded , like Saint Joseph, that we have been enabled to gather these blossoms - that we have been shown how to work, to pray, and to sacrifice to attain these virtues. We carry a fragrant bouquet with us but we leave the seeds of all virtue to the forthcoming Marielites, praying that they may gather in yet richer har- vests as the years go on. H. Zwxfmfm HE hours of work are over, the ad blanks, scissors and glue are put away, but at last the product of our efforts is in our hands. The Crusader is the work of many hands, for without your co- operation it would never have been published. We are indebted to you, the Student Body, and the Faculty for your untiring assistance to us, and to Saint Joseph our Patron, who answered our prayers for its success. Memories fill its pages which we hope to carry through our lives. They are memories of work and play that are pictured here, and of friends who helped us, who we hope will not forget us. We deliver this Crusader to you feeling fully repaid for our time and labor in the knowledge that you will enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed creating it. JUNE HERBERT '47 a
