mp Q64 Paesident Dear Fellow Students: When I became your SGA President I had high hopes and ideas, all of which were centered around our being a united student body. We achieved this unity to a fairly decent degree. Now my hopes are for continued progress for each of us as we pursue additional education or employment in business or industry. To exist and not pursue is to be dead: to exist and pursue is to be alive. Therefore, pursue education, economic security, emotional maturity and self -understanding . As SGA President, I have grown intellectually, I have acquired a deeper sense of intellect, integrity and a more practical knowledge of the meaning of responsibility. I have also learned that although we will never be completely satisfied with life , we must not stop our gist to attain the best that life has to offer. I have also learned that you and I must continue to pursue success in every aspect of our daily lives - utilizing the ability that we have acquired at Mary Holmes. As my term as President of the SGA expires, I urge the student body to discipline and prepare itself for the tasks that lie ahead, both here at Mary Holmes and in the larger society. But the commonalities of our existence must take priority over our differences. Ernphasizing and using our com- monalities will assure us of growth and strength both of which are necessary, if you, I and Mary Holmes are to serve humanity. Best wishes for continued success. Yours sincerely , QnvX Q Melvin Ray Kendrick SGA President, 1975-'76
