The candidates were led at half- time by George Hollida, president of the Student Council, to the center of the field, with Gay Hill, MHS Band mascot, carrying the crown. After the winner's name was announced over the loud speakers, she was crowned by George Hollida and then escorted from the field followed by the crown- bearer and the runners-up. The appointed members are named when they are freshmen and serve all through their four years in high school. The home room representatives are elected annually and serve one year. The J.R.C. Council directs the students in carrying out projects suggested by the national Junior Red Cross, to promote the welfare of needy people, at home and throughout the world.
