Springtime Track The approach of warm weather brought the opening of track prac- tice late in March, with many of last year's stars returning. The team competed in the an- nual sectional meet held on the home athletic field, the C. V. A. L. meet at Handley and several other invitation meets. The two outstanding stars of the season were Walter Dinteman who specializes in the hurdles, and Paul Flick who does not specialize in any one field but participated in the shot, discus, and javelin. Graduation will remove both of these boys from the ranks, with several other performers, and leave the team in fairly bad shape. s :i z l lx' - -c.. g g . 1 Q S 7 0 Xi . Their first match was with Loyola High School of Washington, in which the locals bowed down in defeat. This is the second year this team has been scheduled by Martins- burg. Tennis has come from a mere fancy to a well known sport around Martinsburg, with the squad gaining more members every year.
