HE Bulldog lassies chalked up a fairly successful season this year, lost three games. tied one, and won six. While the offense did not always click, the guard combination of Boyd, Bitner and Sapp was re- peatedly praised by critics and judged the best in the panhandle. Ruth Boyd, veteran guard and captain of the team. was named captain of the all-panhandle sextet. Kathleen Sapp, guard, and Hilda Davis, for- ward, were given positions on the second all-panhandle team, while Helen Bitner, guard, received hon- orable mention. HE Bulldogs completed a very successful basketball season this year, winning thirteen games while losing but four. The locals won the Sectional basketball tournament, defeating Charles Town 37-26. but were de- feated in the first round of the Regional by Kingwood, 42-21. The Bulldogs gained their second leg on the C. V. A. L. cup by finishing in a three-way tie with Fort Hill and Hagerstown for the C. V. A. L. championship. Paul Flick, Billy Portertield, and Charlie Loizos were named to positions on the All-Eastern Pan- handle team. Stewart Laidlow received honorable mention on the Panhandle team.
