In previous years the Purple Rider clay-court crews have lost only two matches. In the spring of 1940 the Purple racquet wielders downed six toes and lost their final match to Warwood at the latters court. In the 41 sesaon this powerful club over- whelmed 14 opponents and were never on the short end ot any count- last season the Ferrians were engaged in only three matches winning all. The Riders have been up against some of the stittest competition in the state- and to mention a tew they have downed Bexley Marietta Salem and Upper Arlington.
