THE SHIP OF 0544 In nineteen hundred and fifty, We gathered up our happy crew To sail upon the sea of learning, With zest for knowledge in us burning. The first year, as captain of our ship, A girl named Barbara launched the trip, In this year high school life began, And we found study meant more than scan. In our wise foo1 year we felt grown up, For Alan Haran manned the pumpg He seemed to like the sailing strife, But he soon left us, for Air Force life. Then when our third year came around, We were not feeling quite so sound, For we had learned school held more than fun, There were, also, lessons to be done! 11 This year Miss Staley helped us through, A hard, busy life we began anewg Crowned at the Prom, our Junior King and Queen, Wayne Heimroth and Sally McComb, reigned supreme Judy is our captain now, g She's there commanding from the bow, At times the waves toss us about, But we will help Judy ride them out. Our ship is now prepared for strife of wrecking on the rocks of life, And we, the seniors, pass to you, The privilege, too, of sailing through. 10
