Our Freshman year was filled with money making enterprises. Among them were square dances, food sales and dances after basketball games. Our treasury was off to a good start. We added new friends to our class. To end our freshman year we had a. class picnic, one which none of us will forget. As Sophomores we had more dances, and we also sponsored a hayride. That year our class was one of the largest in the school, and we certainly had a great deal of enthusiasm. When we came back to school as Juniors, two new experiences awaited us. Everyone was excited about our class rings. Then in May plans for the Jun- ior Prom took shape. We tried a different decorating plan in Blue and White, and to everyone's delight the prom was a success. The biggest surprise was that we made a profit! Then at last we were Seniors carrying a heavy load of responsibilities. The first event was the Senior Play, Teen Time which added another good time for us to remember. A food sale and dance followed. Soon after mid-year exams the yearbook staff went to work. Now we are all looking forward to the thing we've been working for, our Senior trip. The climax of these years will come in June when we graduate. It's the number one jet jockey of the Air Force, Wild Bill Miner. He claim hat ducks can't fly too high for him now. ' . we go onin ourjourney,we find a milk truck with Doris Gelhorn at the wheel. lt looks li - Bo Clow in the doorway of that farmhouse. I guess he's just waiting for the milk man. May- b , hmml ! So we leave this touching scene and travel onward until we approach a race track. Who should we find in the pit but Marge Hoffay, a hot-rod driver. lt looks as if she picked up this trick from riding in a Ford Coupe. The next thing we see is a black Hudson skidding around a turn and, by golly, if it isn't that Elaine Fingar in the driver's seat! We all agree that her talents behind a wheel are not to be overlooked. It's getting dark so we had better get along. Let's look in at this night club. Careful now. This is a swanky place where people used to sink down eight feet when they stepped on the car- pet. After numerous complaints, they decided they had better put in a floor. The lights are down low, and standing there in the spotlight is Mary Anne McComb, the Canary of Broadway. Listen to her sing. Isn't that Norm Butterfield we see sitting at the first table by the footlights? It looks as if he took a night off from his soda jerking job at the drugstore. l-le looks very interested in this par- ticular Canary. He always was a bird! There's one of the most famous celebrities of our time. It's Nuggets Kopp, the wall street wonder, making a mad play for that cigarette girl who just happens to be Dorothy Bauch. He just bought the tray and all. It looks like he won't be around too much longer because Roger Van Alstyne, part owner and the bouncer of the club, is on his way to protect his property, Kopp may be taller, but nobody outweighs Van Alstyne. I'll bet on Van Alstyne. The lights glare in our faces, especially the ones from that theater ov r there. Upon close in- spection,we find that the star of Hollywood is making a personal appea anc . f course, the star is our own Grace Mueller. Well, this is quite a change.
