Perfect rolll Another strike for the girls. The Girls' Varsity Bowling Team, under the supervision of Coach Geri James, enjoyed a very successful sea- son, finishing with a 9-1 record and a berth in the City Championship. The team finished third in the city, out of more than sixty teams. Not only was this a rewarding season for the team as a whole, but it was also memorable for individual achievement. Fourteen girls bowled over a 140 average dur- ing the season, qualifying them for the City Individual Tournament. Leaders reminisce about old times as they look at pictures of past school events. Ms. Burkhardt speaks at the Leaders installation in the cafeteria. Ms. James and a leader confer in the girls' gym. At the installation, new members were greeted by the old. Anybody want to buy M 81 M's? was the cry heard throughout the halls as leaders sold M 81 M's to raise money this fall. Aside from peddling M 81 M's, leaders take part in fund-raising for the school, as well as such outside activities as picnics and camping trips. Their charitable efforts are reflected by Sunshine Group , which puts to- gether a show, and performs in various nursing homes. Each leader has two gym periods a day - one is the leader's class assist period, where leaders assist a gym teacher by taking atten- dance l Floor Spots l and referee- ing student games. lt takes one year to train to become a leader, and during this training, the trainee or little sis- ter , is assigned a senior leader, a big sister , and the two exchange small gifts every now and then, without the little sister knowing who her senior sibling is. Leaders are expected to live up to certain academic standards, and those who remain leaders in good standing share a mutual comarad- erie seldom seen, except in only the best of organizations.
