Van Buren's Girls' Gymnastics Team has given the school much excitement during the past four years. In addition to placing in the city's team finals four con- secutive years in a row, team members have achieved considerable success in the city's individual finals as well. This year, the team, under the supervision of Mr. Norman Abramowitz, has confi- dence that returning gymnasts, such as city individual competitors Karen Georges and Ann Schlosses, will help the team to continue its winning streak. Gymnastics is one of the most de- manding types of competition, and this year's Gymnastics Team trained hard for its nine meet season. Team members specialize on several pieces of apparatus, such as the high bar, parallel bars, still rings, vaulting, and the pommel horse.
