MR. MARTIN KAYE Administrative Assistant X ANNEX 95 ln recent years, the overcrowding in Martin Van Buren High School has reached extreme proportions. The first solution, triple sessions, was tem- porarily successful, but as the enrollment topped 5,000, it became evident that a new remedy was required. This was found in P.S. 95 in Jamaica, better known to us as the Annex. Students were admitted for the first time in September 1961, and since that time the Annex has grown into a miniature high school. A full program of academic subjects is offered. ln addition to honor classes, help classes and clubs, the students publish a combination newspaper and literary magazine four times a year. Pupils are permitted to ioin the G.O. and elect their own G.O. Officers, which truly attest to the high school atmosphere existing in our Annex. .
