Dear Friends, The fabulous fifties have passed into limbo, and, as you leave Martin Van Buren for the commencement of adult life, our planet spins into a decade still unlimited by a descriptive adiective. For your Yearbook theme you have selected Windows, a happy choice as you look out upon the years-to-be from the vantage point of adoles- cence and our academic walls. Windows appropriately represent our school. This many of you must have observed walking to school in the early morning with the sun's rays reflected from the banks of glass fenestration on the east wall, or looking up at the magnificent library windows while you hurry up the steps with hands of the ultra modern school clock anxiously pointing toward the glass doors at the entrance. May l wish all of you a future rich in the high adventure that inevitably accom- panies a quest for greater knowledge, spiritual satisfaction, and an abiding love for humanity. May you never find yourselves surrounded by Rich windows that exclude the light And passages that lead to nothing On the contrary, may life always beckon you to new experiences through Charmed magic casements, opening on the foam Of perilous seas, in fairy lands forlorn.
