Vi iblc Z7 tiny How like the intermingling of shining springs, The gathering of drops upon a window pane. Probing, I unfold the riddle of mankind. Watch that eager explorer, an only drop Struggle with our unseen adversaries. For years I've overlooked its tragic death. T'is a guiding hand which rules drops and men, For as the pioneer vanishes Two new are born. I too once questioned strength in numbers, But as these drops of life silently ioin, A path of beings, though foggy, is forming. Three, now seven, scores more arrive So swiftly that he alone is blurred, And yet I see all in their flowing deed, Now down that smooth screen they charge, Now softer, smaller 'til time's end. There is no stop for drops and men. Where do they go, these bubbles of us, Upon reaching that final visible phase? Their glory is but believed, trusted and obeyed. SAM SPERLING Y,-.v ,- 'Xe -.. sh.. Windvw Early in the morn the droplets of moisture clothe the window Letting in little light. Soon this coating disappears, And images become clearer. Thoughts, ideas take their shapes. Sometimes the pane is rippled with tiny imperfections, Then the images, thoughts, ideas are distorted. Smooth again, the view is sharpened, now Obiecfivel In an all-knowing moment The rays penetrate deep within Illuminating the entire soul. This magic flash comes Before the tiny droplets of dew descend Before darkness is suspended over all And the window of the mind is closed. BARBARA NEDELL -.-ff ax
