“I should’ve been a nun!” “Now I think it’s time for that man-to-man talk!” “Well, if you’re going to be like that, you may just step out of my classroom!” “Would it be cheating if you helped me with my home- work?” “Say Cheese!” “Where IS that book on how to treat skunk odor?” creatures that filled the room started diving out windows and scrambling for the doors. Meanwhile the figure at the front fainted and fell backwards, hitting the floor with a dull thud. The alien walked over to it, looking into its upturned face (an extremely ugly one by alien standards). At that moment the creature woke up, gave one final scream, and then fainted again. The alien jumped three feet in the air and at least seven backwards, propelling himself out the door altogether. He stared at the thing on the floor, surprised by its reaction. Then he raced out of the building and down to his spaceship. The door of the spaceship opened, and he mounted the stairs to the entrance with relief. The glass in the windows was of a strange texture, making everything fuzzy, but the alien managed to make out a tall thin figure gesturing with what had to be hands, as they were positioned at the end of his her its arms, although they had many fewer fingers than the alien’s. The alien, taking this for a war dance, threw open the door and leapt in, waving his sword above his head and shaking his ray gun in a menacing gesture. Then he stopped and stood there in astonishment as the room erupted with screams, and the small continued on page 9 8

“Unfortunately, this is the only thing that keeps me going all day!’’ “Look, the roof is falling!” “Women, women, women! They’ll get all my hair before I’m through!” “Yay, team!” “Now, all I have to do is unscrew this cap and . . . ” “Who poisoned my coffee!” 10
