fr Q' To neglect your education is to deprive yourself of many of the finer things and some- times even the necessities in life. If you want to acquire most of these desires, you will need to develop the God-given talents that are yours. Never has an education been so im- portant to any generation, Your goal each day should be to do all you are capable of doing so that the world will be a better place for your having been here. fu January 5, 1968 Dear Seniors: Thank you for allowing me to contribute a brief message to your year- book. I would like to encourage you to develop your character while you are in your youth, for this is the time of life in which you decide what you will do and what kind of person you will be in the future. The choices you make now will reflect in your character throughout your entire life. Seek a philosophy to live by which willincorporate the spiritual and moral values of man. In formulating your philosophy, put God first and all things will fall into place. Tolerance and' the christian way of life go hand in hand. Character grows out of an awareness of the difference between right and wrong. It develops from a desire to embrace the right and avoid the wrong. It enables us to resist every kind of pressure when expediency clashes with principle and when shortsighted people clamor today for something they will condemn tomorrow. Character is the result of two things--mental attitude and the way we spend our time. TAKE TIME TO LAUGH--It is the music of the soul. TAKE TIME TO THINK--It is the source of power. TAKE TIME TO PLAY--It is the source of perpetual youth. TAKE TIME TO READ--It is the fountain of wisdom. TAKE TIME TO PRAY--It is the greatest power on earth. TAKE TIME TO LOVE AND BE LOVED--It is a God given privilege. TAKE TIME TO BE FRIENDLY--It is the road to happiness. TAKE TIME TO GIVE--It is too short a day to be selfish. TAKE TIME TO WORK--It is the price of success. Sincerely yours, Kwan . Robert E. Cunningham Superintendent REC! ew The Superintendent . and His Stay?
