I The coveted dedication of the 1960 c'La Pitahayav has been made to Miss Rosita Uribe, shorthand and typing teacher in Martin High School. Miss Uribe was chosen because of the hard Work she does in Interscholastic League training in shorthand and typing and her kind and sympathetic attitude toward her students. Miss Uribe belongs to a San Ignacio family. She attended school in Laredo and graduated from the Laredo High School. She then Went on to Our Lady of the Lake College, Where she received her B.S. degree in Business Adminis- tration. Upon completing her education at Our Lady of the Lake, she secured her first teaching position in 1944 in our Alma Mater and has continued her teaching here. She teaches advanced typing and stenography and is furthering her education by doing post-graduate work in Denver University. Besides having her interest in school Work and her students, she listens to her collection of classical records and plays the piano at her leisure. A Stroll Around Martin High School On the first sunny day in March We set out on a stroll to enjoy the sunshine and the little patches of green clover in the grass and the cool breeze of mid- morning. We-Heinz Bauer, Connie Bray, Alberto Garza, and Elvia Negrete-left the main building and walked to- ward Park Street, so as to get a better view of mighty Martin High and then around to the auditorium en- trance. The lofty palms on our campus make it look very tropical. How many times I've Walked in this entrance to attend a basketball game-the smell of pop corn, the sound of leather tapping the floor, and the roar of the Tiger rootersl Auditorium Entrance
