4-X' rx MARTIN HIGH SCHOOL ADOPTS NEW SCHOOL SONG All Hull Tu illorfin High When a new choral director eomes to a school, he is naturally interested in the school song. Les Gillespie, who became Ill. H. S. Choral director in the fall, found that the majority' of students did not know I Love You. Laredo High. He also found that the song was sung only once a year at graduation, Some oi' the faculty memlners and a few Student Council mem- hers approached Mr. Gillespie and asked him to write a new school SOlljIl so he wrote one. The Fhorus learned the song and presented it to the student hotly ata st'lioolasseml1l5'. Thi-n ai vote was taken and the new song: was adopted lu' a ltlll to 91 vote. A I tout the Author 2 Mr. Gillespie has a Bachelor ot' Musit- degree from Northwestern State Vollege ot' Louisiana. He majored in Music Theory and Sociology. He did his graduate work at the Ihiversity oi' Tennessee on Fellowship, Composi- tion and Fondueting under the instruction ot' llavid Yan Yaetor.
