I. W. NIXON Principal Mr. Nixon, ot West Texas birth, attended Allen Academy, the University of Texas, and Sul Ross State Teachers' College, where he received his Bachelor ot Science degree. I-le played Varsity foot- ball at Texas, lettering at tackle position in '28 and '29, and served as assistant instructor of Physical raining. Coming here in l929 as a P.T. instructor in the grades, Mr. Nixon met and later married Miss Iosephine Brewster, a Laredo girl. He became principal of Christen Iunior High, and in the summer of 1941, Knobby was appointed head of M.H.S. Mr. Nixon has introduced new courses, improved old ones, and worked unceasingly in behalf of the school. Since the war, his special interest has been the veterans, for whom he has arranged schedules, planned their night school, and given needed encouragement. Vitally interested in ath- letics and youth-building, he enjoys being of service to the community.
