,I DORIS KARABANOFF 1922-1942 Doris was beloved of her classmates and te h b t ac ers ecause o her friendly disposition and her devotion to the school. She was a member of the Ellen H. Richards Club, and was Cheer Leader from 1939 to 1941. Doris was born in Laredo, Texas, on September 15, 1922. She attended the Laredo public schools and was a student in summer school at the time of her fatal illness. I xx . 1 A , 'Q .Ag i , ' A I , nv Ll U WILLIAM BENAVIDES 1915-1942 Mr. Benavides, son of Mrs. Rosa Benavides, was a native oi Laredo and a member of the Class of '34 of Laredo High School. Later, he attended Notre Dame University, where he received his bachelor of science degree in engineering in 1940. He taught at Qld High School, but was transferred to Martin High School at the beginning of this year. Here he taught mechanical drawing, mathematics, and science. The faculty and the student body of Martin High School deeply regret the loss of this beloved teacher who was so suddenly taken from us. He was loved by everyone, for he had a charming per- sonality and a splendid character. We shall always cherish his memory. -Alejandro R. Garcia.
