CARNIVAL NEWS The annual school carnival was held October 27, at the Martin City Hall. An evening of fun began with a humorous one-act play given by the students of M.H.S. The program was concluded by several numbers by the Martin Band. Different concessions of the carnival were the fish pond, dart-throw and a goose stand. Bingo was played in the basement. P.T.A. members served the lunch for the evening. Highlighting the evening's program was coronation of king and queen Eileen Schauer and Martin Iszler were the winning candidates. They were crowned by their close com- petitors, Geraldine Eckart and Arlan Ammon The proceeds of the carnival were used to purchase a scoreboard for the gymnasium SCHOOL PROJECTS FOR THE YEAR 1950 '51 A new scoreboard and a projector were purchased for the school this year The scoreboard was bought with the pro ceeds from the carnival This scoreboard came in quite han dy for our tournament, until the fuse blew out After a short delay, the fuse was replaced, and our scoreboard work ed perfectly again Bill Putz was the official scorekeeper for our games The Y C L , Primary Room, Pep Club, Boys' and Girls' Basketball teams, the Progressive Club, Baptist Ladies' Aid, School Board, and the P T A all donated money towards the purchasing of our RCA 400 projector We also got a turn table, microphone, screen, stand for the screen, and an am plifier along with our projector Films are now being shown to the whole school about once a week, and also to the individual classes The microphone was used for the senior three act play, as well as our other programs for the year Time 9 OO 9 20 9 20 10 OO 10 OO lO 40 10 40 11 20 12 OO 1 00 1 OO 1 1 40 2 2 20 5 5 OO 5 SCHEDULE OF CLASSES Mr. Michelson Mr. Tofteland Opening Exercise Study period English IIb English Ib Present Day Problems Study period . .Journalism Noon Noon Study period General Science Bookkeeping Science Lab K'I'ues 8: Thurs 1 Agriculture Study period Boys' Phy Ed.
