We’ve all grown so much in so many ways. Even though it’s time for us all to move on to pursue our goals, we will all treasure the experiences M.V.R.H.S. gave us. There are so many good-times to cherish for the rest of our lives. We all managed to survive the troubles and fears that freshmen are plagued with, such as the impossible locker combinations, Fun-in-the-Woods, and adjusting ourselves to the rotating schedule that we still can’t understand. And as fate would have it, we were lucky enough to be the last class subjected to Mr. Defeo’s unique brand of education. Sophomore year was a little easier. We gradually became more comfortable around the upper classmen, and experimented with the famous high school parties we heard so much about freshman year. We had one of our first giant fund-raisers, the auction. So much of the class helped out along with our auctioneer, Lenny Baker of Sha Na Na. It was a success. Our junior year we had all worked hard, and suffered many trials and tribulations (the infamous fruit cup sales during the fair, the lasagna dinners, and concession stand madness at the football games), some how we were able to raise enough money to pull off a most memorable prom. Before we knew it, we were seniors, we no longer had to wonder how it felt to be one. Our class is outstanding in that so many of us have successfully participated in athletics, plays, minnesingers, and other extracurricular activities. There are many people who we will miss that have been a part of our four years here, but have moved away before the completion of our high school years. People like Mark Clarke, Kathy Dougherty, Walter Holliday, Steve Iammarino, Jesse Lander, Beth Lyons and Myka Ransom. There are two people that have not been mentioned just yet, but deserve all the credit we have to offer. Mrs. MacLeod and Mr. Cunningham have put up with us and have helped us these last four years. We hope they realize how much their help and understanding is appreciated. Unfortunately as all good things must come to an end, so must our high school years. From September 1980 up to the time when we moved the tassels of our caps to the right side, we’ve tried to get the most we could out of our brief four year stay.
