Through group activities, as well as through in- ividual endeavors, eighty-seven young people have rown. Their growth depended on their subjects and their attitudes. But more than any other stimu¬ lus, they depended on people: Those from whom they learned and those whom they helped to teach. Our theme is that stimulus—PEOPLE: in general as well as in particular. The Council has developed a dress code which gives the students an opportunity to wear clothing of their choice providing it meets standards of good taste. The Council feels, however, that extreme cases should be handled by the school administration. In order to raise money for a scholarship given by the Student Council each year, the members have sold coke at home football and basketball games. The Student Council members did their best to make and consider decisions they hoped would be ac¬ ceptable to the entire student body, with suggestions from any concerned student always being welcomed. In all of their concerts the Minnesingers per¬ form madrigals, including up to eight parts, and motets which are their specialties. The Student Advisory Committee was founded this year, in hopes of bringing the students, faculty, and ad¬ ministration closer together, and in helping to promote school spirit throughout the student body. Although this was our first year, we feel that we have accomplished a great deal. In December, we held a Basketball Bonfire and Dance (the first of its kind); we promoted campaigns to help keep the lavatories clean; we played a part in opening the school gymnasium on Saturday afternoons; we made available to the students, the athletic equipment, such as basketballs, volleyballs, etc.; we worked with the Student Council in deciding upon a suitable dress code; and we aided in the decision t o have special clubs after school hours. We feel that we have made a start in obtaining the goals of the Student Advisory Council. And now, with our first year coming to a close, we would like to extend our thanks to our advisors, Mr. Davis, Mr. Robichau, and Mr. Hazelton for their help in achieving our endeavors. Each of the homerooms had to build a twelve-foot bonfire for the Basketball Rally and Dance. Room 1, reaching the twelve feet first, was the winner, with Room 2 and Room 3 following respectively. The victor received a trophy, designed and created by Mr. Chamberlain, an Industrial Arts teacher, to be placed in the front hall trophy case. Our first class project was a bottle drive, by which we accumulated a grand total of $1.84. But under the strong and persuasive leadership of our president, Judith Issokson, our wheels started to turn. The two food sales we had were very suc¬ cessful. Probably the major achievement we have had was the selling of candy, our prof¬ its totaling over $500. History of the Class of 1969 WHERE HAS ALL THE TIME GONE? Wasn’t it only yesterday we first entered this school ? It hardly seems, that four years ago we were the Little freshmen running around crazy, trying to figure out one end of this school from the other. But somehow we have managed to make the most of it. With spring here and summer just around the corner, we realized how quickly the year had gone. The seniors were graduating and in only three short years we would be in their shoes. As Sophomores we looked ahead with great confidence. With Peter Fisher as our president, and Mr. Lawrence Broglio and Mr. Eldon Paradis again our advisors, how could we miss? For most of the year we were on a never-ending job of money mak¬ ing. We had the routine food sales and tag days, and of course the Mod Days,’’ which our class had originated. This allowed the students to dress in any way they pleased, and even the faculty joined in to make it really fun for all. gator Room, which Mr. Arthur Young very generously let us occupy. We had many long hours of decorating, making rocks with chicken wire and papier- mache, the buckets and buckets of sand that were carried into the Navigator Room. Among those who made the prom a suc¬ cess was Mr. Thomas Demont, who had Our Junior year was even more challeng¬ ing. Each of us was now faced with more responsibilities than ever before. Our great¬ est task was probably to complete the Driv¬ ers’ Education Course and obtain our licens¬ es. Our Junior year was truly an outstand¬ ing year; it was the year we all had waited patiently to come; the year to plan our prom. We had elected Deborah Mayhew as our prom chairman. For the first time in our school history, the prom committee decided to hold our prom outside school grounds. The decided place was the Navi- painted a seashore mural as the background for the throne. As June rolled around, those countless hours of preparation, worry, and last-min¬ ute changes seemed to pay off. For behold, there was a prom, Ebb Tide’’ and truly a magnificent sight to see. That night Nancy Fragosa and David Merry were crowned queen and king. Her court consisted of Amy Asselin, Jennifer Bates, Joan Rice, Pamela Goggins, Barbara Nevin, Pamela West. As graduation rolled around, Michael DonAroma was chosen the graduation mar¬ shal by the Class of 1968. As the seniors received their diplomas, we realized how too quickly those three years had flown and in one short year we would be prepar¬ ing for our graduation. As Seniors we anxiously awaited the last moments that we had left. Having our sen¬ ior pictures taken, measuring for caps and gowns, choosing our grand marshal, etc. are only a small part of the memories that we hold deep in our hearts. The Class of 1969 express our deepest gratitude and thanks to all those who have helped us these past four years.
