Hlwphecgf As I was on my yearly vacation in the West, Idrove through the town of Los Alamos, New Mexico. I stopped at a Gas Station to get my '85 Aeromobile filled with jet fuel. I was certainly surprised to find my old friend, Dick Brown, manager of a thriving business. We talked for a while and then Dick said that if we'd stick around for a few minutes until he closed, he'd take us to view the new rocket testing station. After we made it through the guards at the rocket testing station and finally got inside, we were greatly shocked to see Dwayne Frazier and Martin Sturmanis, our alumni from old M.H.S. They said that they were finishing a rocket -- Super XIXXOOX -- and that they were taking it on a trial run the next day. They offered to take us along for a ride, and they said that the rocket would be installed on the Earth-Mars route the next week if it proved satisfactory. I consented to the ride. I arose very early the next day, and called a taxi. Iwas very surprised to find the driver was Larry Crow, who said he married his old sweetheart and they now had eight children. We took off on the excursion, and at about 100 light years out, we passed a desert island with a sole inhabitant. Martin said that theherrnit was our old pal, Donald Archer. He was working on his thesis, The Life History of a Swayback Caterpillar, for LC. U. University. As we passed a space platform, Martin directed our glance to a huge housing area which he said belonged to Marilyn Middleswart and Linda Morrison. They were making millions on their business venture, homes for old maids. Then, as we zoomed past the moon, Martin pointed to a tall tower. He said that the two people on top ofthe tower were Viola Wilkinson and Jolm Findley. John had been hired by the astronomers' association to count the stars, Viola was chief star gazer for the moon. As we neared Mars, we prepared to land. Martin said that some of our old friends were there. As we rode down the super highway on Mars we were amazed at the rows of houses. Martin reported that they were the homes of the native workers for Duane Proudfit, a farmer. Duane had ten zillion acres of land under cultivation on the planet Mars. He was trying to perfect square soybeans. Duane reported that Ann Barry was now in jail for fraudulent selling. She had been convicted of selling refrigerators to Eskimos who lived on the dark side of the moon. The return flight to earth was uneventful. RUBLE IMPLEMENT - Indianola, Iowa M. B.
