Seven of those attended the Martensdale school last year. They are Max Beam, Robert Hyland, Dorothy Reinholdt, Iona Miller, Irene Seymour, Henry Wonderlin, Gene Weil. Newcomers to our class were Lois Hendrickson, Betty Kellogg, Helen Cassady, Mary Catherine Dooley, Betty Shepherd, Jeanne Brown, Eileen Simpson, Francis Kelly, John Spick, Gerald Wilson. Ada Brown joined us in November and Don Stewart enrolled in March. Eileen Simpson moved away in February. We had two parties. The first was a theater party in Des Moines, and the second was at the schoolhouse. In the class tournament the Freshman boys and girls didn't win a game. The Freshmen who are in the band are: Ada Brown, drum majorette, Bob Hyland, bass drum, Max Beam, snare drum, Francis Kelly, trumpet, Gerald Wilson, saxophone, Jeanne Brown, trombone, Henry Wonderlin, saxophone.
