They were trying to find their way to their various classes. Mr. Lamb took pity on us and we elected him sponsor. During this year john R. S. Meade entered our class but Malcolm White departed for the bright lights of Hollywood Cwith a stop over in Indianolaj. Wilbur Roberts also left us for Roosevelt High, Des Moines. As Sophomores, Wilbur Bell joined our ranks and we again had Mr. Lamb for sponsor. Carlos Nichols came and left during the year and we also lost Leila Dunn to Norwalk where she has helped put their basketball team on the map. ln our junior year Duane Melroy deserted us to enter Patterson High. Miss Richardson was our sponsor. Under her direction we presented our play, Aaron Slick from Punkin Crick, on October 27 and November l. We edited our junior paper also. Our Civics class visited the State House in Des Moines. ln March john Shafer moved to Patterson and Don McGuire dropped from school. We entertained the Seniors at the Savery Hotel and after the banquet attended the Orpheum Theatre. ln our Senior year john Shafer returned but Zora Rose Frazier was forced out of school by illness. Mr. Casey was our sponsor. We edited the school paper, raised the largest sum of money ever attained by a Senior Class at M. H, S., and presented the play, Haunted, on May 8. We attended the junior-Senior banquet on May 15 at the Grace Ransom Tea Room and were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Casey at dinner on May 2l. Baccalaureate services were on May 19 and Commencement on May 23. EQGQGQQQQQQQQQQQGQQGQQQQSBQBGGGQ9696966996 Page Seven
