HILL, WISE, BELL. WHEELER. MGR. Kittenball, the comparatively new sport at Nlartensdale, has 2 become very popular. The M. H. S. kittenball team had a fairly good 9 season in l934, its first year, winning 7 of I3 contests and taking the if consolation gameat the -Stn Charles tournament by defeating St. Charles 7 to 6 in a thrilling I3 inning game. With a few X breaks these might have been added to the victory column. The team was runner- x up IH the county tournament and might have won with an equal division of izood and ,C had luck. They outscored Spring' Hill from the Hoor but couildn't deliver on their free gg throws. Several close in shots also popped out of the hoop. X X Four veterans were on hand but they had not teamed tom-ther and that fact X together with the change in the rules of play seemed to hamper the group. Margaret 59 Wise and Jo Monroe divided most of the scoring duties with 177 and 173 points is respectively. Pauline Duff, Adelaide Wise and Zora Rose Frazier also saw service X at forward. . Ruth Howell, Frances' Burrus. Pauline Duff, Marjorie Weaver and Reba Brownlie did the bulk of the guarding. Of this squad only M. Wise and F. X . X Burrus will be lost by graduation. X ,. . . 54 With six letter-winners on hand for next year, prospects look good if only gg another forward can be developed. Lack of size which handicapped the girls this gg tylear may also be overcome if some of the promising younger players grow during X e summer.
