Filth and Sixth Grades School bells started ringing on September 2, 1952, calling twenty-six pupils to our room. Ten girls and six boys were in the fifth grade and four girls and five boys were in the sixth grade. Our celebrated activities were in line with the consecutive holidays of the school year. Perhaps the Christmas party was most enioyed by all of us. We hope that all of you enjoyed the part our room played in 'the Christmas pro- gram when we presented The Christmas Story Retold . Our entire room was represented. We present a play, The Year on Parade , at the January 20, Community Club meeting Orchestra members from this group are Janet Goken, Jewell Grimes, Phyllis Kile and Tom Seif. We found Social Studies, a somewhat new subject, quite interesting. The sixth grade learned about the gifts of Ancient World to Western Nations Changing Their Ways The fifth grade studied how our country has become a World Power from the Colonial Days. We are enioying our school year, though we have to work hard to learn so much, there is always some time for fun too. Seventh and Eighth Grades There are ten in the seventh grade and fifteen in the eighth. Early in September, both classes went on a hayride together. In December the eighth grade went on a skat- ing party. These eighth graders held a Bake Sale at Bernard Lyon's grocery in Caledonia which they made Sl8.75. Both classes have been collecting sales stamps. ln December, Every Pupils test in reading was given to both seventh and eighth and strange as it may seem, the seventh grade scored above the eighth grade. Patricia Hill is president of the eighth grade while Linda Noodespaugh the seventh grade. Both grades are on a program for the Community Club to be given in February. 21
