Boys Sports The boys in physical education class play softball basketball volleyball and several of the boys are on the track team. Basketball is the best liked of all the sports and everyone eagerly awaits the opening of the season. This year we opened the league by playing Pleasant here Our boys played very hard and were almost successful in turning Pleasant back But Pleasant came out from behind in the few remaining minutes to win the game 57 59 Although we were defeated, our spirits were not dampened and each successive game brought new excitement. When the season ended we had a league record of three wlns and seven losses and we also won one tournament game Those receiving varsity basketball letters are Melvin Hissong Junior Price, Ion Elliott, Sonny Worcester, Gale Loyer and Paul Layman Dale Linstedt also played on the varsity. Darrell Frazier and Kenny Barden started the season by playing on the Junior High team but because of the lack of players on the varsity, they switched over to playing on the varsity Kenneth Pletcher ls the manager and Edwin Ransbottom ls the coach Our lunlor High gained more ln experience than ln wins this year They hope to do better in the future.
