GFBJC News The First and Second Grades are taught by Mrs. Mary Alice Lyon and have twenty- flve students. Both classes study the same subjects: reading, writing, numbers, spelllng, and handiwork. We took part in the Famers' lnstltute program and the Mar.ch Community Club meeting. The boys and girls like school and have lots of fun working and playing together. The Third and Fourth Grades this year have an enrollment of forty. Mrs. Elizabeth Winters is their teacher. There are ten new desks ln our room and everyone ls getting a chance to use them, for a few days at least. During the study of cotton growing, we grew a few cotton plants ln our room. We enjoyed taking part in the Farmers' Institute program and a Thanksgiving playlet. Because of the large number of students in our room, everyone ls learning to share experiences, and to work and play together. The fifth and Sixth Grades have nineteen students ln their room. Mrs. Dorothy Trout ls their teacher. Everyone is very much interested ln sports and music. Three students are ln the school band and seven are taking instrumental music. All the puplls enjoy reading and have made good use of the library, Weekly Readers, and the reading textbooks. Through Health and Safety, they are learning to take care of their mlnds and bodies. Everyone is antlclpatlng a happy summer vacation. The Seventh and Eighth Grades have an enrollment of twenty-six students. M-r. Herbert Walter is their home room teacher. They exhcange classes just like the High School. They nave been very busy collecting tax stamps. The pupils of this room were responsible for a program at the Community Club meeting ln January. Several of the students are in the school band. Most of the boys went out for basketball. Both the boys and the girls enjoy playing plng-pong. High School News ' When the nine Freshmen entered High School ln september, they found lt very new and excltlng. The Seniors initiated them ln November.
