x 5 f 4 ' . ,-na..r': ' GIRL RESERVE Soon after a new school year had started LaVila Muldoon, the President elect, called a meeting in which the following officers were elected: Vice-President, Bette Willing Secretary, Fern Zableg Treasure, Maxine Robbins, Miss Andersen, the adviser, and officers chose the following to head the various committees: Social, Nettie Griffieldg Finance, Ellen Thomas: Membership, Palma Smithg Publicity, Marjorie Bevan: Program, Bette Willing Service, Betty Robbins. Miss Helen Lowell, District Secretary of the Girl Reserves, came to our school one day and spoke to the new and old members of the or- ganization on activities of our club and others in near-by communities. On November second the Girl Reserves of Southern Idaho held a fall con- ference at Meridian with that club as our hostess. Miss Andersen and the following girls attended: Mary Wolfe, Louise Law, Alice Gable, Mary Ellen Edwards, Marie Smith, Nettie Criffield, LaVila Muldoon, Marjorie Bevan. The outstanding event of the year was a very beautiful and effect- ive ceremony, the candle lighting service in which girls who wished to become members were officially made so aiter having taken their vows, Two outstanding social events of the year were a hobo party held at the school and a kid party held at the home of our sponsor, Miss Andersen. MARSING BAND This school year the Band, under the supervision of Mr. Ovregaard, has increased in number and has shown considerable improvement, The uniforms are of dark blue with gold letters. The letters and caps were given by the P.T,O,, the students receive the letters as an award, but the caps are retained by the school. The Band has played for P. T,O. meetings, basketball, and football games and for the Commencement Exercises. The Band numbers fourteen and two majorettes, The Band is composed of the following units: Trumpets- Jack Daily, Billy Hoag, and Nettie Criffieldg Clarionets- Mary Ellen Edwards, Dorclene Pavelec, and Mildreta Pederson: Hornebelores Maxwellg Trombones-Forrest Coate and George Worcesterg Bass-Marlin Paine: Drums- Lennard Smith, Alice Gable, Paul Hale, and Bette Willing Majorettes- Helen Muldoon and Betty Larsen,
