1978 MARSHWOOD REED DEDICATION “If your contribution has been vital, there will always be somebody to pick up where you left off. and that will be your claim to immortality.” Walter Gropius During her twenty-five years of dedicated service in the teaching profession, Mrs. Matijczyk has given much more than fundamental knowledge — she’s given support, humor, and friendship, each compounded with the most vital element of all, the love of teaching. Biology is defined as “the study of the life processes.” Mrs. Matijczyk has, in a unique way, taken her students beyond the world of protoplasm and dissection and into a realm of wisdom and awareness. Her efforts have left their mark on thousands of students whose lives have been enriched through personal contact. Her contributions to young people have been extremely vital and, in our hearts, Mrs. Matijczyk has already laid claim to immortality.
