JlCr. Grayson C71. DfariJet To the graduating class: Congratulations on your graduation! There are more challenges today than ever before. It is true that there is much in the news today of war, social strife, poverty and hunger; but this is no reason to become discouraged. The days of the western frontier are gone, to be sure, but many other frontiers are awaiting to be tried: frontiers of medicine, social justice, outer space, the search for world peace. Whether we like it or not, we are all involved in this struggle for the betterment of our civilization. No matter what your choice of school or vocation, realize that our very survival commands each of us to do our part in this noble effort. Mr. Grayson A. Hartley School Superintendent SAD 35

JlCr. 7)ona c y. JKacIBane In the poem “Today” by Waterman, we find the lines, “We shall do much in the years to come, but what have we done today?” I believe that the students of Marshwood High School can answer with pride, “We plan to do much in the years to come, for today we have already done much”. This yearbook represents one of the more tangible accomplishments of our students. Tangible results are always easy to see, but the intangible, such as the work and growth of our students, are more difficult to assess. However, through consistent student effort and cooperation, these tangibles have aided us in building — in the short space of two years — a Marshwood to which we point with pride. In the classroom, on the athletic field, and on the stage, the students of Marshwood have performed with that ex- tra bit of spirit and pride which gives to a school the fire and vigor that transforms it from an ordinary school into “Our School”. Therefore, to the students, faculty and staff of Marshwood High School, I say very sincerely — “Well done!” Donald J. MacLane Principal 7
