Guests were treated to a fine meal of prime rib and enjoyed the music of “Spur.” The queen of the prom, Wanda Lopes, was escorted by Paul Frazier. In the queen’s court were Debbie Catabia, escorted by Steve Chandless; Joanne Flanagan, escort- ed by Jimmy Mulrey; and Liz Madden, escorted by Clancy Kaye. The night had its mysterious moment when a girl, dressed in gold, made an appearance on the floor during the queen’s dance. Nobody knew who she was but, it is hoped she had a good time. 26 TIDE BUSINESS STAFF Front Row: Jennifer Bruce, Joanne McGrath. Second Row: Janet Callahan, Kerry Fennes- sey. Cafete- ria on October 21st to M.C. the Junior Class Halloween Masquerade Dance. He immedi- ately won over the multitude with his snappy patter and disco platters. All the disco kings and queens “Freaked Out” to the music while they eagerly awaited Ron’s decisions on the ‘Evening’s Best” costumes. When the big moment arrived, Rick Rawling, dressed as Jaws, literally gobbled down his third place prize. Seconds later, Ron Robin’s “toga buddies” Don Aldridge and Wayne Kempton animalistically snapped up their second place awards. Then the Evening’s Best trio of munchkins, Carolyn Batts, Heidi Coppenrath, and Lynne Habel wizzed away the top prize. Those who did not win prizes lost no time planning their costumes for next year-or so it seemed- they were overheard i singing “I want to be a macho man.” I SCRIVENER STAFF Maureen Murray, Adrian Bellando, Brian Pennini, John Burgeren, Peter Bouzane, Bob Gaylord, Lynne Goodwin, Advisor; Mr. McMillan, Chantal Grace, Advisor; Mrs. Ring, Liz Lapof, Paula Sampson, Lisa Caswell, Laurel Hanscom, Karen Ragusa, Laura Ragusa. The game was finally called when the Junior squad could not last another play with the massive defensive attack by the Seniors. The injuries began to stack up for both teams and the fans as well, as the girls decided to call it quits. The game as a whole was very competitive and well fought. Neither team dominated the action, mainly because both teams appeared to be well coached and organized. The half time show included a masterful pyr- amid by the Senior cheerleaders and a num- ber of other colorful acts, involving their so- called Junior competition. This game, unfortunately, was not sanctioned by the school. This is due to the tendency of the game to get too violent and out of hand. This did not keep the fans away, considering the crowd was active, involved, and prepared with cameras and flash-bulbs. 6i 1979 “SENIOR NIGHT OUT The Seniors of “79” saw the rebirth of an old tradition which failed due to apathy in the last two years. On November 18, 1978 over one hundred couples rolled in at the Ridders Country Club anticipating five hours of dining and dancing. Senior Night Out gave assurance to future classes that a Senior Prom can be possible and successful as this one was.
