ROMEO . . . APPRECIATION NIGHT On January 11, 1975 friends from all walks of life gathered at The Ridder Country Club to say “Goodby and Thanks to Jim Romeo on the oc- casion of his retirement as Principal of Marshfield High School. The evening was a gala affair and yet a feeling of nostalgia and sad- ness permeated the hearts of all. We knew this evening would mark the end of a long and dedicated career by a man who has made each of our lives a little richer by know- ing him and a little empty by his retirement. We wish Jim and Barbara the best that life can offer. They have always given their best! Smile, Barbara, here comes the photographer. I ' m proud to announce a world record — the Romeo ' s have never lost in 32 years of competition. 2 .11 1 1 III ' “My hearing aid is all right; it must be my glasses. These students, all with different and varied backgrounds, participated in the renovation of the Old Second Parish Church in North Marshfield as well as taking the traditional ju- nior subjects; English, U. S. History and math. In the beginning stages of reconstruction, students replaced rotten sills, built new walls, insulated and drywalled the interior and did the electrical wiring of the build- ing. Later they shingled the exterior, painted the inte- rior and leveled the sagging floor. The objectives of these activities were to give students vocational train- ing and experience in carpentry, masonry, electricity, landscaping, furniture and antique restoration, and public relations. Often- times tradesmen from the community assisted and taught students. The Project Enterprise teachers are Mr. Parker (Eng- lish), Mr. Fleming (U.S. History), Mr. Schwartz (math) and Mr. Kilroy (Industrial Arts). The juniors who participated this year are: jamie Allen, Constance Banner, Richard Bartholomew, Frederick Byrne, Diane Camelio, Dennis Carr, Mark Connell, Sandra Craft, Christopher Dane, Rob- ert Degust, William Donohue, Daniel Downey, James Doyle, Mau- reen Feeney, Marlie Fife, Susan Geddes, Charles Gonsalves, Sean Joyce, Alan Larrivee, Paul Matthews, Patricia McCormack, John McGrath, George Millman, Daniel Mitchell, Gerald Morrison, Robert Munroe, William Nicholson, James Pereira, John Phillips, Joseph Popoloski, David Rossi, John Sheridan, James Sullivan, Ro- land Thibodeau, Marsha Williams, Stephen Williamson, Ann With- am, James Woods. 63 String Orchestra STRING ORCHESTRA 1974-75 Robert Barlow Susan Bennett Raymond Berberick Barbara Bielski Karen Campbell James Connolly Kyle Doherty Marcia Dube Nancy Dube Paul Fishman Lisa Hall John Hardman jane Harlow Kathryn Harlow Brenda Jackson Diane Jackson Jessica Kelly Susan McKeever Eileen McKenzie William McKenzie Allen Monroe Kathy Pollard Gael Powers Susan Rich Diane Saivetti Joseph Saivetti 64 Stage Band STAGE BAND: Steve Boelaski, Mike Ceoser, Thomas Champagne, Cindy Clark, Steve Colo- han, Mark Connelly, Jay Connelly, Daniel Coop- er, Frank Corby, ' Billy Davis, Charles Day, Matt Day, Brent Hunter, Mike Larkin, Gleen Maxwell, jerry Morrison, Chris Mullen, Sarnie Mullen, Jan Noyes, Tom Palardy, Roland Thibodeuu, Jack McGowan, Bill Wiggin, Kim Mitchell, Candy Bre- to. It was always a nice change to see classmates and close friends dancing beautifully in long gowns and tuxedoes. The excitement was highlighted with the crowning of the 1974 Prom Queen, Laura Fait. Last year ' s Queen, Michele Bohin, presented Laura with flowers and her crown. The girls in the Queen ' s court were: June Durgin, Lolita Sa- bine, Regina Kilfoyle, and Kerri Fullam. These girls were presented with colorful nosegays. The prom turned out to be a great success. The record of 3-5-1 does not really do justice to this years team, which was composed mostly of under- classmen. The opening contest saw the Rams fumble the ball and the game awa y to Hingham. In the second game, Marshfield was edged 13-7 by Plymouth, a team that was to end the season with a 10-0 record. A score- less tie with Silver Lake followed and the next week the Rams were belted by Randolph 35-12. A 19-0 loss to Rockland followed, with the Rams gaining monentum in the next game, barely losing to Whitman 14-13. Marshfield came alive, beating Bridgewater, Dennis Yarmouth, and Scituate to end the season. The Rams were captained by Gary Malone, jim Griffiths, and Brian Gavagahn. Top senior performers were Ray Ber- berick, Paul Unangst, Bob Norris, Henry Tweedy, Doug Rader, Henry Johnson, Mark Sullivan, Ralph Nicotra, Lou O ' Rourke, Don Topham, Dennis Hayes, and Stu- dent Trainer John Smith. Coaches DiGravio, Roper, Sil- va, and McMahon are looking to next years compaign with guarded optimism. Finishing the season with 3 straight wins, including a 27-6 Turkey Day victory over Scituate, was a great way to end off the year. 104 105 Hockey Front Row: M. Harris, D. Ohiund, S. McCarthy, F.
