m2 “Music halh charms to soothe the savage beast. To soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak — Congrue When music is in the air, life seems a little better; each day. Mr. Cowgill and Mr. Adams dedicate themselves to much of our happiness through their music. Mr. Cowgill who has been here for seventeen years, and Mr. Adams who has been here for eight, have made the music depart- ment one of the strongest areas of Marshfield High School. Members of the band, orchestra and Marshalaires participate yearly in exchange concerts; many of these students also com- pere in the South East District, the New England, and the All- State Music Festivals. With Mr. Cowgill and Mr. Adams extra help after school most of there students have been able to parti- ciapte in these festivals. Not only does Marshfield High enjoy the talents of Mr. Cow- gill and Mr. Adams, but also — the community as a whole. Holi- day concerts are put on for the public, and at times the depart- ment performs for special groups and association. Individual students, the school, and the community are en- dibted to Mr. Cowgill and Mr. Adams through their talents, en- ergy, patience, and dedication, they have made an ummeasurable contribution to everyone. “Music, when soft voices die.
