The Rocketry Club is for all students interested in missiles and other self-propelled rockets. Under the supervision of Mr. Hailer, the boys have built and launched their own home-made rockets. It is hoped that, through this club, future scientists will be encouraged, and interest in the U.S. Space Program will be generated. ”I do not know what I may appear to the world; but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding another smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me. Under the guidance of Mr. Babb and Mr. Romeo, and sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Marshfield, the club has undertaken such activities as policing the Thanksgiving football game, aiding the Eleanor Duane Scholarship, selling programs at home basketball games, and organiz- ing Operation Bootstrap, a tutoring program, employing high school students to help elementary school youngsters in various fields of interest. It is hoped the club will continue to grow, and add new interest and vitality to MHS. So far, in its first year of existence at MHS, the KEY CLUB has far exceeded the high goals that had been set for it . KEY CLUB “We Build” BACK ROW -- J. Tice, M. Biagini, S. Frugoli, M. Beckwith, F. John Pickett CROSS- COUNTRY The cross-country team, with 6 wins and 3 losses has so far had a winning, but not wholly satisfying, season. The team had hoped for an undefeated season, but Scituate, Cohasset, and Holbrook had other ideas. We lost to both Scituate and Holbrook by one point only, in both of these meets handicapped by the ab- sence of one of our top five runners . We have no excuse though, for our loss to Cohasset. Theirs was a hilly course, considered the toughest in the league, and their men ran it better than ours . Christopher O ' Neil The team ran its last league meet on Wednes day, October 27, at Hanover. After this last league meet, the team will run in the South Shore Principals ' Meet at Hanover Nov. 9, in the State Meet at White Stadium, Nov. 6. B;i. ' ’ ROW I: Coach Anderson, C. Angier, D.
