Henry Adams Mr. John W. Cameron The Class of 1964 affectionately dedicates THE TIDE Mr . John W . Cameron and Mr. Robert Witham with a deep appreciation for their sympathetic interest, their high ideals, and their exemplary teaching Mr. Robert N. Witham School Committee: Elizabeth S. Hatch, Sec. , Richard R. Ketchum, David Ellis, William C. MacDonald, Superintendent Edwin Martinson, and Chairman Robert F. Archer. We, the Class of 1964, have had the benefit of twelve years of Marshfield schooling. The excellence of our educa- tional environment during our years is due in great measure to the thoughtful leadership of the School Committee and to the able management of Mr. Burgess, Mr. Romeo, and Mr. Martinson. They have provided us with a solid foundation upon which to build our future. We, the Seniors, wish to thank them for their untiring efforts . 6 In Memoriam JOHN FITZGERALD KENNEDY 1917-1963 35th President of the United States All generous hearts lament the leader killed, The young chief with the smile, the radiant face. The winning way that turned a wondrous race Into sublimer pathways, leading on. Grant to us life that though the man be gone. The promise of his spirit be fulfilled. - - John Masefield NOT TO BE SERVED, NANCY CAROLYN AMES DOROTHY ANNE PRISCILLA BUTLER SANDRA LEA ABERLE JOHN MICHAEL AMORE, JR MARTHA JANE ADAMS HERBERT A. The curriculum emphasizes preparation for further study. Most stu- dents in the college course and many in the business course go on to college; graduates of our school have been accepted at man y of the country ' s top colleges. The business and general courses also provide terminal education for those students whose needs are thereby fulfilled. Preparation for a life of maximum service in accordance with each pupil’s individual talents is our goal. immm, HEAD HANDS WORK r ijIjI Mr Romeo and Mr Burge the daily attendance examine ROW I; L. Together we resolve school problems, express hopes, and recommend changes in plans This flow of ideas between us and the adults working in the same school creates a friendly climate conducive to the learning process. Our two projects this year are; the adoption of a foreign child in a foreign land and the development of an orientation program for transfer students to our high school. CULINARY AND CUSTODIAL STAFFS A school, like an army, travels on its stomach. Our school is fortunate to have a fine culinary staff whose excellent meals keep the students moving. The lunchline scramble is a demonstration of the popularity of the food served in the cafe- teria . We are also fortunate in our custodial staff. In a hundred ways they help to keep the school running smoothly. We thank both the culinary and custodial staffs for the service they have shown in making our years in Marshfield High happy.
