Education, Boston University As friends we have dwelt in Marshfield ' s wooded hills and valleys and traveled through the pastures of intellectual growth and development. Now you face the great span of adult years, leaving behind you the familiar and beloved paths of youth. As you de- part, remember that you carry with you a part of Marshfield High School. Just as we have given much to you, so have you given a part of yourself which will always remain here--your spirit! You join a long line of alumni who, since 1888 , have distinguished the name of your ALMA MATER. In leaving we ask of you not fame or fortune, but rather that at all times you strive to think, to work, to live your lives in a manner representative of the high ideals and standards which exist in our school. OUR NEW Where it all began! Sticks and stones ' . Trucks and tractors! Here we challenge the physical! Foundations fast! Solid and strong! Just YESTERDAY, in 1645, Marshfield recorded that reading, writing and ciphering was taught its youth. In yesterday ' s book, also, the record reads that educational apathy was evident as late as 1700, but that 1701 found the town in per- Cranes ! 12
