QUJIV tl0l'lJ 'lhe Ihrshfield program of award is different frcln most schools If a student has done outstanding work in any type of activity, any subject, cr sport he is ent1tled to an M award The school presents the certificates which entitle the students to buy a letter M with the emblem representing his activity worked in Only students receiving one of these certificates can wear a sweater with an M decorating it The four inch full block letter is br scholarship The student who gets an M certiflcate for scholarship has done excellent work all year The six inch full block is for a certificate in a mjor sport as volleyball, basketball, or softball A stripe letter is won for various track and field events The old English let ter is for music and lf a person has earned an award in more tlnn one thing he my buy a letter with the different emblems worked into the H The school presents the letters only when a group has won nrst in a nmjor activity Each individual in the youp receives an emblem with his mme on :lt in Blue and White A student can receive a certificate in any subject or port in which he has done outstanding work.
