1938 MAHISCAN 1938 Sfudezzf jody The most important organization of Marshfield High School, the Student Body, has just completed its sixteenth year, which proved a very successful one. Most of this success was due to the leadership of the fine officers who directed the students this year. They were: Boyd Handelin, president, John Busterud, vice- president, Dixie Fortune, secretary, Dick Hanen, treasurer, Jack Koines, yell leader, Bette Knox, song queen, Claire Lyon, editor of Ma-Hi Times, and Eadith Heath, editor of the Mahiscan. To become a member of the Student Body, one must buy a Student Body Ticket, which is sold at the first of the school year. By buying a ticket the student receives the following benefits: free admission to all home athletic games, discounts on all out- side games, voting privileges, ability to hold offices, deduction on annual, participation in all student body activities. Several successful dances were held by the Student Body this year for the enjoy- ment of its members. The business of the Student Body is very well handled by the student council, a body made up of the president, vice-pres- ident, secretary, and treasurer of the Stu- dent Body, together with the four presidents of the classes. Mr. Williams is the advisor for this council. ' 6
