Why Crowds Attend the Games Melvin Rhiner is holding the trophy that the Bobcats won at State Center in the ser- tional tourney. Butch captained the boys in the winning game. 'llhe winners of the Girls' S, S. Cage League. Perhaps it also accounts for the large male attendance at the games. And here are the fighting Vikings. The Lutherans took the Boys' Cage League in many a hard fought game. These Bobcat hasketeers are the pride of M. H. S. They took second in the con- ference and won the sectional title. ln their first game they defeated Mason City who later won the state title. ln a mid- season game they defeated Austin, Minne- sota, who were also champions of their state. Captain of the track team, Bill Brint- nall, waits for the gun to start the 100-yard dash. These boys compose the first track team in M. H. S. since l93l. 'l'heV attended several meets in the state, at each one raising the esteem of their opponents for them. Most of the members are juniors and sophomores and will be the nucleus for a strong team next year. Floyd McCarthy '33 came into his own this year as a 440-yard clash man. His sprints during the last 50 yards always macle points for M. H. S. Another of the track events the Bobcats excelled in this year was the 440-yarcl relav. These four runners can hnrn up anv man's track, and clid. Mr, Kingsbury is on his way to lunior High to coach future Roh- cats in the gentle art of blocking and tack- ling. The girls' gym class inclulges in a little volleyball. lJoesn't the girl serving the hall look capable of knocking it over the net?
