With no less than twenty-six choices for science classes, the science department started out the year with what could be called the most comprehensive science program for junior high and the most ex- tensive science program for senior high. The teachers hoped to raise the enrollment of students in the department and so offered courses not only for the college science minded but also courses for the generally interested student. Although there was a decrease in teachers from last year and no funding in sight from the S.E.A. grant, the members of the department felt that their department had done a top notch job of meeting the needs of the situation in the school. 17
